Theater
Established in 2013, the Maynard Jackson Theater Company is a growing company dedicated to impact the East Atlanta community stakeholders of Grant Park, Kirkwood, Ormewood Park, East Atlanta, East Lake, Edgewood, Reynoldstown, Summerhill, Benteen/Chosewood Park, Thomasville Heights, and Mechanicsville. We will be united as one with the purpose of using edutainment to increase empathy and compassion with our audience. Students will understand the power of art to inspire, to challenge, and to impact change in thoughts and attitudes of its patrons. We are a positive movement and will produce future thespians, artisans, and technical experts that will change the entertainment world forever.
Our Story
Maynard Jackson high drama department is a collective of talented high school students who are changing lives through theater. we consistently produce a variety of plays, musicals, and other performances for the southeast Atlanta community. from professionals looking to develop a resume, to beginners looking for their first on stage experience, mjhs theater has it all! students can learn acting fundamentals, directing, staging, technical theater production, costumes, set design, musical theatre, singing, dancing, and so much more!
